چکیده

This paper describes the effect of interleaved discontinuous space-vector modulation (SVM) in paralleled threephase systems using three-phase pulsewidth modulation (PWM) rectifiers as an example. At the discontinuous point of the SVM, the phase shift between the switching signals of the paralleled modules generates a zero-sequence excitation to the system. Because the conventional control in a balanced three-phase system with only dq channels cannot reject this disturbance, a beatfrequency circulating current will develop on the zero axis. Based on this observation, a SVM without using zero vectors is used to eliminate the cause of pure zero-sequence current for parallel operation. Using this SVM, the circulating current is observable in dq channels. It can be suppressed dynamically by strong current loops of power-factor-correction (PFC) circuits. The concept is verified experimentally on a breadboard system.

Optimized Space Vector Modulation and Reg PWM: A Reexamination

The relationship between space vector modulation and regular-sampled PWM techniques for hard-switching PWM inverters and rectifiers are reexamined in this paper. Space vector modulation with optimized apportioning of null vector time that results in minimum current THD is investigated and is compared with previously known methods. The conventional optimal regular-sampled PWM method and its rela...

Analysis of Discontinuous Space Vector PWM Techniques for a Five-phase Voltage Source Inverter

This paper develops discontinuous space vector PWM (DPWM) techniques for a five-phase two-level voltage source inverter (VSI). Space vector model of a five-phase VSI shows that there exist 32 space vectors with three different lengths forming three concentric decagons. Application of outer most and middle set of space vectors to implement Space vector PWM yield nearly sinusoidal output. Thus th...

Simple PWM Approach for Three Phase Voltage Source Inverter with Reduced Complexity

PWM techniques are becoming popular in the present day applications due to the control of amplitude and frequency in the output voltage from VSI. There are two popular approaches for the implementation of PWM Algorithms. Carrier based and Space Vector Approach. Both the approaches give the same performance, but due to simplicity, mostly carrier based approach has been preferred. A large variety...
